Long before a butterfly begins to fly, it is that caterpillar that can easily be stepped on and crushed. This is similar to some of us, although there is so much greatness on our inside, some people just can’t see it so we are considered weak, small and insignificant.
It is interesting to know that God specializes in using the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. It is only God who will call a stammerer and ask him to lead a revolution of slaves to freedom: He would rather choose the ruddy, sheep keeping, most unlikely youngest son of an unknown man to be anointed as King..He is the same God that would rather have the Saviour of the world born in a manger by a virgin. He alone can call a onetime prosecutor of His people to be a big time minister of the gospel.
The only limitations we have are the ones we put on ourselves, it took me a long time to begin to even consider the thoughts of God for me, because not only does God seem to have an interest in the seemingly weak or unqualified ones, He brings them to the point of thinking at the frequency of His thoughts, because in reality, the life of a man is determined by his thoughts.
Even though it is still an unfolding agenda for me how that life standard and situations subtly dictate my stance on the premise of my flaws and inadequacies, even when I quickly try to put pressure on my strengths to come to my rescue, I have discovered that ten times out of ten, even my strengths fail me. So I had to come to the conclusion that on the path to fulfilling my God ordained destiny, truly it is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of God.
The link between the before and after of our lives is a journey that must be taken entirely on the wings of God’s strength.
As much as God is always in the business of turning around the least expected to the most celebrated, or making the last the first, His selection is intended to keep us solely dependent on Him. He expects that we draw all that we require for the journey from Him.
The True test of greatness lies in the ability to lay all down- strength, flaws and weaknesses alike and letting God have His way after all we can only to all things through Christ who straightens us.
Although I am passionate about personal development, I have come to realize that no amount of personal development yields result as Christ at work in us.
The greatest people are those who not only refuse to give in to their inadequacies, but choose to draw their sufficiency from God.
