Good Morning Beautiful.

It’s a beautiful new week and we are excited at all the amazing things God will do for us.

The confessions for the week just remind us that God’s got us covered.

It’s hinged on Romans 8:28 King James Version (KJV).
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.I declare this week that every situation, every circumstance is working in alignment with God’s will for my life.
I declare that I’m a victor over every circumstance I encounter this week.
The Lord goes before me this week and makes every crooked path straightened.
This week I’m not disadvantaged because everything works together to my advantage.
This week men see me and recognize whose I am as I exude God’s favor, light, blessings, mercy, goodness, wisdom and grace.
This week I run and I’m not weary; I walk and do not faint; I have the strength of an eagle and carry out my business/work this week with ease.

If you know Virtuous Oak (that’s her name on Instagram) then you would agree with us that her humility and sincerity is remarkable. This month on our Beautified Woman of the Month, we feature this incredible woman and learn from her wealth of experience. Now if you are thinking of going into the ministry or marrying someone in the ministry you need to read every line of this interview more than once. Argghh there’s just so much to learn.

  • Please introduce yourself.

I am Adigun Titilope .I have an acronym for my names (given by my parents and my husband) Titilope, Hadassah, Adetola, Didun Adigun. – THADA. I am a daughter of a king, wife of almost 6 years to Dr. Love, mother of three graced nations, pharmacist by profession. My husband and I coordinate a Ministry to teenagers and young adults, MINE TEENAGE MINISTRY and pastor the church arm of the ministry – The Ark.

  • In one sentence, how would you describe yourself?

Titilope Adigun is work in progress who is being and doing her best to enjoy the life that Jesus gave her.

  • What is your definition of purpose and how did you find yours?

Purpose, the reason for my existence is becoming like Jesus. Scripture says in Romans 8:29 (please read in as many versions as you possibly can for understanding) that I was chosen to conform to the image of Jesus. In my days in the university and a few years later I got really confused because of the wave of discovering purpose. It then occurred to me that since I did not make myself, I would have to ask the One who made me why He did. This scripture just seemed to be it for me with this definition. Being and doing what Jesus would be and do per time and in everything has been my driving force. I have found purpose in being Oluwatimilehin Adigun’s wife, found purpose in being David, Esther and Samuel’s mom and found purpose in being a blessing to the younger generation so they don’t make the same mistakes.

  • How would you describe the ideal Christian woman & wife?

The Ideal Christian and wife is one who understands her true identity in God lives by the Word and the Spirit and exudes the love, wisdom, grace of God. She understands she has limitations and that she cannot please everyone so she serves well but also knows how to take good care of herself. I think balance is the word that best summarizes her life!!!

  • How are you able to manage your ministry and family without either suffering?

Before I answer this question, I have to say this.  Before now I used to say that if I knew that my husband was going to be a pastor, I would have said ‘No’ when he asked me out. I just wanted it cool and steady though there were experiences along my journey through life that were training in disguise for such a time as this.

Managing ministry and family with neither of them suffering was not exactly easy from the start especially because of birthing and nurturing our three great nations. I had to combine this with a 8am -5pm job.

The first thing I did was quit my job, maybe I did not have to but I must confess it was overwhelming and I felt I was being unfair to my children.

One thing God has really helped us to do is build young people and give them a platform to harness and express what God has graced them with so by God’s grace there are responsibilities that can be delegated to some of them and over time they have gotten better at carrying out these responsibilities excellently. With that in place, I have learnt the importance of delegation and monitoring and thankfully these amazing young people are willing to help. God bless them for me. This has helped me focus on family and our children as they are still in their formative years and they need extra care and attention because of the different species of young people in our world.

  • Please give some practical tips for women who are overwhelmed by the same situation.

Dear sister let me start by celebrating you for the journey so far. It is a higher calling that you have and I believe God knew your frame before He called you into this thing called ‘ministry’. I know so many young ladies who would say no to being called into ministry especially as a pastors wife . Please know that to a large extent you can not really compare yourself with other women. The demand placed on you is more and on different fronts so my advice to you is :

  1. Ask God to teach you how to make things work as your peculiarity demands. You need a large dose of wisdom to balance many things.
  1. With your priorities in place , you will need to define the things that are important, things that are urgent and otherwise. This categorization will vary per time but it will help you plan your time well.  Please do all you can to give God first place n your life everyday and keep in touch with Him through out the day, this makes the burden easy to bear
  1. Please get help!!! By all means I consider  myself a hardworking homemaker and in a bid to keep everywhere in shape I get exhausted and don’t get to do some very important things. There are days I’m so drained and irritable and the whole house is under mummy’s tension. My husband tells me that if I continue like this, I would loose out on so many defining moments that would create a lasting impression in the minds of  my children . So if you are like me please get help, many times you have people offering to help with different things please allow them to help and get their blessings from God.
Virtuous Oak and Doctor Love
  • How does it feel being married to a Pastor?

Laughing at this point is so inevitable. Like I said earlier, my desire was to just have my husband and children living in a cute home loving and serving God without too many people around, if you know what I mean.

When this came, my husband took time to break the news of God telling him to start a church because we had even planned that we were not going to do the compulsory classes that would qualify us to be ordained in the Ministry we were attending at the time.

God has worked on me and enlarged my heart to take in more people and to love them. Being a Pastor’s wife has come with mixed feelings for me but the good times far outweigh the not-so good  times. I have known the joy of seeing people find a reason to live their best lives. I count it a great honour to have a husband who lives his life loving people and this love has changed countless lives and salvaged destinies. Oh, what a joy to know that the young ones have found shelter from the storm under our roof ,where they can love God, serve Him and give expression to the greatness inside them while preparing to be launched into the world for exploits!!!!!

  • Complete this … Pastor Timi is a …

Pastor Timi is a God crazy young man who loves Titilope deeply, amazingly fathers David, Esther and Samuel and who just like Jesus is an expression of God’s love to humanity! An Advocate of Sexual Purity and Love Never Fails.

  • What do you love the most about being married?

The best part of being married for me is the knowing that you are greatly treasured by at least one human who has got your back anytime any day, I’m second ONLY to God in his life- such a sweet  thought!

  • How are you and Pastor Timi raising your children to stand out for Christ in this perverse generation?

What a challenging question. You really cannot imagine how much this means to us because of how perverse this generation and these times are. I believe parents in these coming generations would need a higher level of parenting grace.

That said God has been helping us lay eternal foundations.  By God’s grace, they know and attend devotions (we try to make sure they are awake and alert at those times ) and they are in as many spiritual meetings as they can be with us . In between they’ve heard a lot of praying in tongues and they try to do it once in a while.

My husband lays his hands on them (and me) every morning (as much a possible) and pronounces a blessing. Intercession is key for these little ones because prayers cover s them at those times when we can’t be there with them. Very importantly we have been media conscious for them.

I can’t remember anyone of them ever singing a secular song. Guess this might not be a big deal to some parents but I am so grateful that at this age we have a (have a 4 year old King, 2 year old Queen and 8 months old priest) they have an idea of who God is and what worshiping Him means. There is still so much to do in this regard because there are so little alternatives especially in cartoons.
Parenting is one course for us in this marriage institution that my husband and I by the help of the Holy Spirit hope to pass excellently. Let me add that I am also reading books on parenting which I believe would help.

Virtuous Oak, King David and Queen Esther
  • You are a mentor to many young ladies. Apart from those you have mentioned, can you share any other practical tips young ladies need to live by?

Recently, I have been burdened to tell as many young people, especially ladies that they should seek to know God for themselves, cultivate and carefully nurture a relationship with the first love himself. In my few years of living I have come to know that nothing in this world can ever satisfy. Jesus is the cup that won’t run dry and one of the greatest revelations you can ever have is the revelation of God’s love!!! You need to know that you know that God loves you. Nothing you do wrong will make Him love you less and nothing you do wrong will make you love Him more. Knowing this will help you in the good and not so good times.

Then most importantly building this relationship helps you sharpen your ability to discern with clarity, God’s voice especially (though not exclusively) when it comes to making big life decisions

Secondly, please gain value as much as you can, seek knowledge, read books attend gatherings that make you better. Grab opportunities to learn new things, skills, dishes, etc. we really cannot ignore the possibility of the need to quit a 9-5 job when it becomes inevitable (and many times I think most women are wired to do something we don’t like being idle. ) we don’t just sit at home. At such times the productive things we learn outside the four walls of a school become very handy.

This is very important for ladies who will be in Ministry or married to men in the ministry especially itenery ministers. But you know many times we don’t have the full picture and you will agree with me that it is wiser to learn and not get to use a skill than not being able to deliver. Ignorance is horrible please seek to know all you need to know and become all God created you to be.

Thirdly please prayerfully build friendships. True the world is full of all sorts of people and some people even believe that no one is to be trusted. But there are some amazing people too (just like the scripture talked about a remnant generation) we were made to need people and people need you too.

Find your own friends and be a great friend too. There is so much to say but let me say this finally. Do not fall into the trap of competition and comparison. Just like the Yoruba adage says that the sky is big enough for all birds to fly with it disturbing each other. Please celebrate your uniqueness. Be the best you were created to be.

  • What do you love about the Beautified Network?

The Beautified Network is a blessing indeed. I visited the blog sometime in January and I was greatly inspired. I read the interview with the beautified woman of the month, Eziaha and I knew how blessed we are in this generation with amazing women loving Jesus and blessing their world. This is my first interview and I want to say that these questions are really deep I had to search deeply to answer them correctly and I confess that they made me realize things I need to pay attention to. God bless Funto and The Beautified Network Team for this. Greater grace and enlarged sphere of influence in Jesus name. Amen.

Priest Samuel when he was just a few weeks old!
  • What would you say is your biggest achievement so far and how has it shaped you?

This is one of the most challenging questions in this interview. I’m not sure what to say my biggest achievement is but when I looked at the second part of this question, I will like to say that God has helped me support my husband in the ministry more than my imagination. I really did not know what to expect at the beginning but this journey has built my faith indeed. More than anything else I have grown in my ability to believe God for the impossible.

  • What’s your advice for young ladies going into ministry?

Dear lady please know and never forget that you did not call yourself. God called you and He would take care of His ministry. You need to stay with Him for instructions, stay faithful, stay trusting, stay obedient and very importantly stay humble. Ministry is a call to serve God and be a blessing to people. Please be excellent at it. Abide in Him so you can bear much fruits and your fruits can abide.

Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! Thank you to The Beautified Network for this honour.

We think we should be the ones thanking Virtuous Oak for this wealth of wisdom she just shared with us. We don’t even know where to start from. Is it the way she made us see what purpose means from a different point of view.  “I have found purpose in being Oluwatimilehin Adigun’s wife, found purpose in being David, Esther and Samuel’s mom and found purpose in being a blessing to the younger generation so they don’t make the same mistakes.”

We think its also important to note what she said about how she and Pastor Timi have been media conscious for their children. By now you should know that no matter how busy you are your family is super important and your children should always be priority, next to God and your husband. What do they watch on TV, what songs do they listen to?

There’s so much more to learn and we think you’d have to be visiting this page regularly to remind yourself of all these salient points.

Thank you so much Ma for this.

One of the things that make for a great relationship is lack of secrecy, when there are no skeletons lurking in the shadows or cupboards of your lives, you will enjoy peace of mind in your relationship; but just like in everything in life, there should be a balance.

I heard an unfortunate story that prompted this post, a lady and a guy were in a relationship, they loved each other dearly and planned to get married in fact, the guy had already proposed and of course she said yes. They were both born again and even though the lady had led a questionable life before she became born again, her past only made her love God more. The guy had been born again all his life, you know the I-grew-up-in-the-church type who obviously loves God, very active in church and holds several offices. When the guy decided that he wanted to marry this particular lady, not everyone was excited but he said he knew his conviction and the lady made sure he knew about her past and that she had not been good all her life. The guy said the past was past and they should look towards the future together.

One beautiful day, they had just been on a date and he was going to drop her at home when the lady saw an old acquaintance, the dude was looking rough and unkempt but they hugged and exchanged pleasantries, she introduced him to her fiancé and he left. On their way, he asked who the guy was and she said he was an old boyfriend from her past; she then began to tell him the kind of life they used to live, drugs, wild sex and partying none stop. She ended her narrative by saying “He knows every inch of my body”.

The guy dropped her off at home but broke off the relationship a few days later, his reason was that he always knew she had a rough past but he could not get past the fact that someone else knew every inch of her body as she so succinctly put it.

The question is where did she go wrong, was she wrong  for talking about her past? No. Did she say more than was necessary or she was supposed? Yes. The bible says “wisdom is profitable to direct” and “there is a time to speak and a time to shut up”. What if she had stopped at “He’s and old boyfriend from my past”; the guy knew she had a sordid past and was still ready to marry her but when he gave her the details, he couldn’t get past it. Some might say the guy is immature and selfish but the lady was not wise as well.

As I stated earlier, there is balance to everything in life, you have to know what to say, when to say and how to say but above all else, we have the holy spirit who will always teach and guide us in all things if we let him, that is wisdom.

Happy New Month!

Our first confession in the month of February will be taken from 2 Kings 6:15. There’s something about starting your week on a great note and that’s one thing the confessions do for you.

My eyes are open to great and good opportunities;
As God opens my eyes to these opportunities, He gives me the wisdom to know what to do these opportunities;
He provides the resources (human, financial, material) to bring these opportunities to a fruition;
He gives me easy access to those whom I need to serve with these opportunities;
He creates pathways for me to flourish with these opportunities.
He crowns my week with good success and as such whatever I lay my hands on do not have a choice than to prosper and bring forth good success.

Have a blessed week ahead!

Lessons from moin moin: Don’t rush the process

Lessons from moin moin: Don’t rush the process

One of my favorite bible passages is 1stCor 1:27”But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise” because it just points to the fact that God can use anything to teach us,even the most unseemly thing. So one day I was preparing to make Moin moin (beans pudding)  and even though I had been thinking about making it all week there was no time to get all the necessary ingredients I could only start late in the evening because of my busy schedule. While trying to make sure it was ready before my husband came back, i didn’t bother picking the beans I just poured water and decanted the dirt forgetting that stones don’t float in water .I also didn’t have time to buy Bell pepper  (tatase) or Chilli pepper(sumbo) so I just used the scotch bonnet(Rodo) I had at home. By the time I finished grinding the beans, it still looked white like there was no pepper in it so in order to savage the situation i decided to put groundnut oil and palm oil in the raw beans just to give it a little color. Needless to say the outcome was terrible, the two oils refused to mix and the result was a palm oil patched moin moin. The cooked moin moin was filled with stones (remember I dint pick the beans). The moin moin was a disaster according to my standards and as I sat down thinking of the whole situation, the lord started teaching me using my disastrous moin moin as the case study.

  • Allow God to prune you.

There are some things in your life that has to go because with them there God cannot be glorified. Just like how it is important for me to pick the beans before cooking it in order to remove the dirt and stone, it is also important for you to allow the lord prune you. There is no shortcut or “patch patch” with God. In Psalm 139:23 David said search me, God and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. Let him remove anything that will not give him glory in your life.It could be a particular sin, character flaw or even something you hold dear to your heart but God is telling you to let go. LET GO AND LET GOD. Pruning is never a sweet experience it is always painful but just like gold and silver have to pass through fire to shine you need to allow God remove all the impurities in your life so that you can come out shining. This can be done by the word of God,it is a mirror and it shows you who you truly are and transforms you to who God wants you to be.Sister you need to allow God help you deal with that particular weakness before it becomes your undoing.

  • Don’t compromise God’s standard.

As you proceed in your journey to fulfill purpose, the world is going to throw things at you and expect you to compromise God’s standard.“Rodo” and “Tatase” are both pepper but they apparently have different functions, you can’t substitute one for the other. The world’s option is never a right substitute for God’s option. Satan is very smart he won’t use big things;he will use subtle things, “little foxes that spoil the vine”.But remember Eph 6:13……and after you have done everything to stand, stand firm….If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Stand for truth, love, holiness, excellence etc. Get your strength from the presence of God; nothing should take the place of daily fellowship with your Lord. Put on the whole armor of God; don’t be ashamed to stand for the things of God. Good values and morals are crumbling all around us but God is still interested in people that will not succumb to pressure just like the three Hebrew boys.Note that physical strength cannot do this; only an enabling acquired from God’s presence can give you the strength.

  • Be a purebreed christian

There are two types of moin moin, the palm oil type and the groundnut oil type. Mixing kinds of two oil was a terrible idea and this brings me to the last point ; you cannot be lukewarm, its either you are hot or you are cold. There is no in between in the kingdom,no sitting on the fence. Rev 3:15 -16.Take a stand for God, don’t be a two faced Christian.Yes we are in this world but we are not of this world. The instruction is to shine your light in darkness, not blend with the darkness .If you want to be a Christian, be a fire brand Christian, a true child of God that can boldly call God her Lord. Don’t be a mixed breed, be a pure breed Christian. The world is now confused about who a Christian is;please don’t add to the confusion. Make sure you stand out.

In becoming that Lady that will be a sweet fragrance to the world, you have to let God break you and mould you. Remember the woman with the alabaster box;the fragrance didn’t come out until the box was broken.

Don't shut your kids up

Don't shut your kids up

My mum came to visit few days back actually she came to recuperate in my home she was a bit under the weather. She told me about a child who asked her parent about sex, she was told to shut up and never say that again. (Typical)

The inquisitive child went ahead to ask the driver what sex is. The driver decided to take his teaching a bit further by showing her what sex was and this ultimately ruined her life, as she reportedly became addicted to sex.

Well I don’t believe the whole story (you know how these old women keep hearing one story or the other and we don’t *sigh*) but one thing is true a lot of parent shut their kids up. It could be because they are embarrassed, clueless about the topic, distracted or over zealous.

If you don’t tell your kids what they need to know or hear them out some one else will and that is very risky.

Kids are inquisitive especially from the toddler age, Yep! blame technology. Do not think these children are too small to understand whatever it is you explain. The wonderful thing about kids that age is that whether they understand it or not they take it hook line and sinker.

There are many predators out there (all over the world), not trying to scare you but it’s the truth. Be patient with your kids and hear them out when they are speaking. Don’t be too busy for your kids. What’s the point of changing the world and your kids are not benefiting from  that change.

Teach your kids about God, sex, violence, abuse, money, self control etc. Don’t do all the talking make it an interactive conversation, ask questions to know how much they know about it before giving your opinion.

Try not to force your opinion on your kids, instead give them reasons why they should consider such path. Encourage them, don’t criticize.

If you don’t know how to go about this special talk with your kids seek professional advice on how to go about it.

God help us all in Jesus name Amen. May our kids never be victims but Victors, in Jesus name Amen.

Having difficulties balancing God, marriage and children? This is for you

Having difficulties balancing God, marriage and children? This is for you

When I had my first baby I was finding it difficult to balance anything. My fellowship time with God was non-existing for a while. I had to cry out to God for help. I was confused.

When you lack wisdom on anything cry out to God and he will give you the wisdom you require for any situation.

I will share some tips below on how I balanced my kids, marriage and spiritual life.

The first thing to do is have a scale of preference, which is more important to you?

My order was

  • God first
  • My Spouse
  • My kids
  • Me

When you understand that God is first and without him you can’t make it through out the day you will forcefully take out time for him. Back then my kids and hubby always interrupted me during my personal devotion.

I tried waking up before them, it didn’t work. They would wake up 10 minutes after; I had to figure out something. I got inspired by a write up from another parent going through the same issue.

Put your Bible and all what you need for your personal time with God in the rest room aka toilet, yep it’s that bad. The bible says “And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force” [as a precious prize–a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

Matthew 11:12 AMP

One has to be forceful about these things.

Here’s another tip especially if you fall in the category of “technology taking your time with God”;

Set a reminder on your phone about fellowship time ensure to set it for 2-3 minutes after wake up time. If your laptop is the first thing you go to when you wake, put your bible on your laptop. The rest room works for me than the others. You can get a cute caddy basket that can carry your bible, highlighters, notepad and devotional. Nobody disturbs when you are in the rest room. (Except toddlers so shut the door)

If you have a spare room in your home you can make it your war room. Ensure it has a lock so when you are there nobody disturbs.

Once your relationship with God is sorted you are 90% okay.

A good marriage requires hard work and deliberate actions.

  • Set Specific times for date night ; stick to it and dress up for it, be it at home or else where.
  • Sex, teasing and physical touch should be consistent. Men would take any of those three over nothing. Yes sometimes we are tired, but we can still cuddle, touch or be teased.
  • Spice your marriage with different surprises. You could try a new recipe, new sex style or game.

Just like you study hard for exams so you don’t fail, work hard at your marriage an by Gods grace it won’t fail.

And for the kids one thing is important: there is no proper way to take care of kids because no two kids are the same that said; Know that they require these things to survive; a loving environment, healthy lifestyle, education and Jesus. How you achieve these is solely left to you, your spouse and your abilities, with God help.

Till next time, remained blessed

Hello Beautified Lady,

Today’s confession is all about declaring your victory over sin. Claim your victory in Christ today!

I decree that in the name of Jesus I am free from every condemnation of sin. By the blood of Jesus, I overcome every temptation of sin. I believe in the finished work of Christ Jesus. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world therefore my victory is sure. I am more than a conqueror. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My transgressions and iniquities are blotted out by the blood of Jesus and I am made whole.

I command that every carnal desire in me gives way to the divine nature of God. The God-kind of life is activated on my inside. By the strength of God at work in me, I decree that sin has no power over me. The last defeat I had is the last I will ever have.

As I step out today, I decree that winning is sure for me today. By the help of the Holy Spirit, my intuitive guides me aright. The Lord activates in me the power of vision and wisdom. The powers of imagination and visualization are activated in me.

Today, I unlock and unleash my ability to do the impossible, hear the inaudible, see the invisible and achieve the unthinkable. Out of this world order of manifestation is my portion today in Jesus name. I believe, I say Amen and it is settled.

I decree in the name of Jesus Christ that:

I am a doer of the word of God, I have the force that produces results and nothing and no one can limit my potential. I have the ability to create and produce. The Lord gives me the wisdom for witty inventions.

I am always in the forefront, spearheading new things, directing and leading others. I walk uprightly with God-fidence and purpose. I am Strong, determined and unwavering in my goals. I have the anointing that turns my dreams and ideas into reality.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. The old shall stop and the new has begun for me. Everything I touchtoday grows, transforms and improves in perpetuity.

There is no restriction for me because God goes ahead of me, clearing and paving the road.  The Lord shall lead me to buried treasures and the secret caches of valuables.

The Lord shall single me out and call me by name. My life is a demonstration of Heaven on Earth. The Lord pours out to me buckets of His goodness.

Today, the Lord shall roll out the red carpet before me. My God shall comfort me and have pity on me. My desert shall blossom like Eden and my wildernesslike the garden of the LORD.

Joy and gladness shall be found in me, thanksgiving, and the sound of singing. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away from me.I am positioned by God to experience all that I have declared today in Jesus Mighty name.

This is our declaration for today!
Have a fantastic week.
Please wait...
