His Grace is sufficient

His Grace is sufficient

Someone once said that there is Grace for womanhood and I agree with this a hundred percent. I mean a woman gets to do so many things and play so many roles in a lifetime it’s almost like women are superheroes. A woman is an incubator, an intercessor birthing nations in the place of prayer, she is a line of defense, a being of purpose and so much more. But I have also come to see that in this calling, the woman is never alone. Faithful is He who has given her such a high calling.

Having so much to do every single day, striking a balance gracefully and staying strong can be tough but I have realized that if every woman can begin to focus on the needful thing- fellowship with her Lord and not on the seemingly more important activities of life, she can always find Strength in the place of genuine and consistent intimacy Him. Getting to do it all by your strength is not convenient at all because in this kingdom we live in, we prevail by Grace and not by physical Strength.

A Lord is someone who has sovereign and absolute authority over you. His Word is final over your life and your will is totally His. You are His responsibility and all that concerns you concerns him but only in the place of your total obedience. Jesus not only saved us but became our Lord the very day we surrendered to Him. There is so much Grace that abounds to a woman as she soaks in daily the glory of her Lord in the place of consistent Fellowship. In this place, instructions come to her per time on how to raise godly children, she daily receives insight on how to be a blessing to others, drawing joy everyday from the well of salvation she learns to put one foot after another at the leading of her Lord knowing fully well that He owns her and loves her with an everlasting Love.

God is asking us daily to sit at His feet and learn of Him. Trying to do it all in our own strength is not always convenient. It just as absurd as a branch detaching from the tree and trying to grow all by itself.  Let us come to that understanding that of our own we can do nothing. Why call Him Lord when he has no say in the way your life runs. Give him His rightful place Lady and yield to His prompting in the understanding that you no longer have a will of your own.

It’s the last week in January and  we hope your year has been great so far?

This week’s confession is hinged on 2 Corinthians 9:8-11

God is able to make all grace, every favor and earthly blessing come to me in abundance, so that I may always and under all circumstances have all I need!
I possess enough to require no aid or support and I am furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable work!
Therefore I take no thought of my needs because God goes ahead to prepare a table of wondrous, amazing, mind blowing goodies throughout this week for me!
As God provides seed for the sower and bread for eating, He also provides and multiply my resources for sowing and increase the fruits of my righteousness which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness and charity!
Thus I am enriched in all things and in every way, and I am generous, to the glory of God!

We are super excited to feature the uber amazing, devil stomping and fab Coach E’. She explodes with joy and every bit of her interview is loaded.  Although she shares her life experiences on social media, there are a few things in this interview you may not have heard before, including her biggest business failures and how she jealously protects her friends .

You will love this one!

  • Hello Coach E, we hope we can call you that. Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

Hey People. Thanks for having me on. I love this platform so it is an honour to be here. That said, I am Eziaha Bolaji-Olojo, and I actually prefer to be called Eziaha outside of Coaching. I am a UK Certified Health and Fitness Coach and I am CEO of CoachE’Squad…SavedFitFAB. I run an awesome Christian blog, an Online Mentoring Academy for Chicks called The FAB Sistership (TFS), and I am also an Author. I love being ALL of this, but my greatest privilege and assignment is being a Wife to my Perfect Slice of Heaven, Bolaji Olojo, and Mama to my kids.

  • You always seem so excited and pumped, why?

Hahahaha. I actually burst out laughing at this. Oh well, I’ll say first of all, I do have a combination of the two extroverted temperaments, Sanguine and Choleric, so let’s say a lot of that comes from my blood, and the breastmilk I grew up on. Haha. Oh, but there are days baby. There are days. Those days when I feel as deflated as a tyre. Those are the days I now tell my feelings to keep on feeling that way, but i’m gonna act in the exact opposite way, and it better hurry and catch up with me. And they always do. You see, satan is just a bastard and when the Bible tells us to call those things that be not as though they are, it is inclusive of feelings. I learned from my numero UNO mentor Joyce Meyer that we don’t let our feelings vote, so whether I feel like or not, a good Leader, which I am, does what needs to be done. Plus by the time I start to sound high, pumped and stoked, I soon start to feel that way.

A cheerful spirit doeth good like medicine but a broken spirit crushes the bones. (Proverbs 17v22)

I prefer the former so I faith it (fake it to the world) until it becomes my reality.

  • You talk so much about your single life and how you dedicated it to God, what’s your advice to a young lady who just married and is finding it hard to focus on God?

I do? Well, interestingly, I spent some time this morning thinking on my single days and how seasons just change with marriage and so do the expressions of our service and worship to God. The simple truth, whether we like it or lump it, is that marriage changes service in some way. The Bible is explicit and I’ll quote The Message.

I want you to live as free of complications as possible. When you’re unmarried, you’re free to concentrate on simply pleasing the Master. Marriage involves you in all the nuts and bolts of domestic life and in wanting to please your spouse, leading to so many more demands on your attention. The time and energy that married people spend on caring for and nurturing each other, the unmarried can spend in becoming whole and holy instruments of God.

1 Corinthians 7:32-35 MSG

Domestic life is REAL (especially kitchen work, sweet Lord baby Jesus!!!), and when you get married, you are trying to make sense of running a home and strike a balance, whether you are a Domestic Queen, or you work outside the home, especially as most brides don’t exactly begin marital life with a home-help. I recall having this convo with one of my 700 best friends, Ayo, after we got married (within weeks of each other) that girl, why does it seem like I am praying and studying the Word less? Like all you wanna do is stare at your ring, plaster all your wedding highlights on Social media and have sex all day and night, especially if you abstained. She said that was her reality too but soon, we strike that balance and we get back in with God.

You may NOT be able to attend all the meetings and programs that you used to, or pray all night, as a Single anymore, cos you gotta cook and have sex, so adjust cognitively, and that doesn’t say STOP completely.  Trust me, Jesus understands. (See scriptural ref above). You know part of what submission amplifies into includes ADAPT. Marriage means a lot of Adaptability (is this even in the Dictionary???), especially from the woman.

And if you have married a good God man, soon, you both will strike a rhythm that works. And the crazy thing is the man is going through the same thing so yawl be easy on yourselves. It all comes together over time.

Plus don’t you dare compare!!! Girl, let me just save you. The last thing you wanna do is compare with another Chick’s marriage. I did that a whole lot in the first year of being married. I desperately wanted my husband and I to pray LONG hours together but we couldn’t. I had spent a night with this couple whose tongues woke me up as they prayed together physically. I was like this is sooooooo gon’ be my home yo!!! Oh how I used to harangue hubs. Like, you are NOT spiritual enough. Haha. Till one day, Jesus in His infinite mercies, decided against whacking me over my head, and instead made me stumble on Joyce Meyer my HERO, say she and Dave don’t pray together everyday because they simply can NOT. But rather they make sure they are connected in the knowledge of what each is praying about individually and as a family. I would hear my own Pastors say same too, and then my brain reset. Hallelujah!!!

So dear newly-wed, pace yourself. It will all fall in place.

Either ways, I will say, make sure you keep your intimacy with God, as your current season allows, and stay connected to Him. Marriage was NOT made to run on human strength or you will self-destruct.

  • Why did you start your business?

I kinda started mistakenly. I had my baby, had stopped work and even relocated, and all that angst of moving from being a First Class graduate, to working my dream job in the United Nations, and then leaving to be a full time stay-at-home mama, led me to over-indulge in food and TV, so I put on a lot of weight.

Someday, I had my reality check, repented, and cleaned up my diet. Lost all the weight, started helping Chicks for free, and then God started to nudge me to ‘do business with it’ and then He used several people to speak to me and all, including my Pastor Mildred Kingsley-Okonkwo, and my friend Stephanie Obi. I really was afraid cos I wondered if anyone would pay me, but it got frustrating doing it for free, and that was definitely God’s way of saying ‘Honey, I’m done with you here…’ I obeyed, went premium and here we are, almost 7months in and it has been absolutely a miracle. I still don’t believe my life today cos, imaginative as I am, I could never have come up with this life for me.

  • What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made since you started the Coach E squad and how did you make things work?

Two major mistakes.

  1. Not having a proper time structure. Gurl, I could be coaching at 2am. I absolutely LOVE this job and I’m pretty much a passionate Chick but the Bible held my answer in Proverbs 19v2

Zeal without knowledge is not good…

Thankfully, God used my sister and co-laborer in the Fitness business, Bumz mama of Shredder Gang,  to teach me about a proper time structure. Now I have a structure, a pretty enviable one, and it has made me all the more fruitful, and for the kind of life I am building, fruitfulness is not negotiable.

  1. Looking to man not God. You know, when I just started, I would get a lot of ‘Oh I’m going to pay for this service from you’ or ‘I referred XYZ persons to you’. Whenever anyone told me that, I would become so expectant, waiting for them to pay up, or the referrals to come. If they don’t show up, jeez, I would harbour some kind of grudge in my heart for the person. Until God checked me and let me know that flesh is just what it is… FLESH, and I am to put NO confidence in it. It doesn’t matter who promises what, I don’t take my eyes off Him. Today, I don’t even put NOTHING on man. I thank you for your kind heart and intention, but I look to HIM as my Source alone. That way, I am NEVER disappointed. Plus sometimes, we humans have the right intention but things happen. So best to stay looking to the One to whom ‘things’ don’t happen.

You are holding a conference for stay-at-home mums who want to deliver their dreams, tell why you are doing this.

I’m doing this as a give-back because I was this frustrated Stay-at-home mom, who was mad at the world, and especially her husband at how her life turned out. I hated that season and I so desperately wanted to be a #WorkingMom too like ‘all’ my ‘mates’ on IG who popped kids and went back into the corporate world like they never left. I was idle, lazy, spent all my time on gossip blogs, totally discontent, and indulged in self-pity parties, the exact four ‘breads’ the Proverbs 31 woman didn’t eat.

‘…the bread of idleness, gossip, discontent and self-pity she will not eat…’ (vs 27 AMPC)

Which is the Scripture the meeting is themed after.

It was such a dark time in my life, but somehow, God delivered me from myself, before I self-destruct. In that season, I learned the POWER of ‘Domestic’ and how God can birth the dreams He deposited in us, right from home. I started my business from home, and God has spread us abroad. I want to help some women get through this season too, and deliver their dreams. I know how the average stay-at-home mom is looked down on, sometimes even by their husbands, and it looks like they are not worth much. I went through all that, and I overcame. God really helped me and it is my privilege to be a vessel to help many more Domestic Queens

  • There’s so much talk now about women supporting women, tell us how you support your friends and their dreams.

First I pray. Next if I run into any info that would help them, I am quick to pass it across. Sometimes too, I have learned that living fully and passionately is inspiration to my friends to go after their own dreams. I know a lot of my friends tell me that I inspire them to go after their goals and dreams as they see me go. Another reason to not shrink or play small. My playing small serves nobody.

  • You hinted in a post about 3 years ago that some people had issues when you married from another tribe. Can you tell us about it and how you worked things out?

Some people ke? It wasn’t ‘some people’, it was my parents’. I’m Igbo and I was marrying into a Yoruba home. Something that had not happened before in my family, so it was quite a struggle. But consent was eventually given, thanks to lots of prayers, wise counsel and interventions, and we are now in our 4th year of marriage, and both families are still enjoying a happy relationship.

  • You are definitely a protector of friends, give us practical tips on how to protect and maintain a great relationship with girlfriends.

I think I’ve been lucky too with my friends. My sanguine nature (thank You Jesus) makes people drawn to me, but I have also been the ‘asker’ some times.

First thing I do to maintain is to define the purpose of the friendship, and this is very important to me. I didn’t do this in the past so I screwed up some relationships. I believe godly friendships are divinely orchestrated, so once I prayerfully determine why this Chick is in my life, I work that friendship mostly to that purpose. Now at the Base of it all is Christ, but Chick A may be my ‘everyday gisting buddy’, Chick B may be the one with whom my huge faith projects and prayers are shared when we talk once a fortnight.

Another may be my wife-buddy, with whom I can share wifey challenges. Another my confessor who I know is gon’ whoop my butts with the truth if I’m messing up. And so on. Oh and there are some with whom my super-emotional side is sufficiently supplied, so we are very mush, lovey-dovey and romantic.

Lol. You see, that’s why I have 700 best friends. Haha. You can’t put all these on one Chick. I’m too much for one. While one friend may fit more than one purpose, only on rare occasions do you find a friend who fits all these (and there’s research to support this), but I’ve been told I can pretty much fit into a lot of ‘purposes’. Even then, that’s still too much pressure for one person.

Challenges start when I want to make my fortnight-friend my daily-gist buddy. When purpose is not known, abuse starts.

I also am truly interested in the lives of my friends. If I know you have a challenge, I do everything I can to help, whether spiritually, financially or otherwise. Sometimes covertly. Some of my friends will NEVER know that for some ‘testimonies’ they have, I pretty much flat out let God use me anonymously. These seeds are priceless and they leave your bank account with them ‘healthy’.

In recent times, my schedule has gotten busier and so I’ve started to actually SCHEDULE time to either call or visit, or I may forget. So it is not out of place to see ‘Call Dumebi’ on Tuesday in my diary. And then if there is some challenge they have shared with me, I pray AND actually ask them for regular updates. I’m that annoying friend that poke noses into your matter. Haha. I have a day I set aside to just pray for my friends. Also I’ve learned and stay learning to both grace and forgive my friends, unlike before when I would be quick to dump and move on.

Phew, I think I’ve been lucky for the most part cos God has definitely restored the ones I screwed up.

Per ‘protector’, one thing I make sure I do is I don’t spill secrets. If you share something with me, even if we quarrel, I just shut up. I don’t even use it against them. Plus nobody bad-mouths my friends in front of me. Nah. And if I see you doing nonsense, I correct as God leads me. Cos I don’t want you to get into trouble

What will you say is your biggest achievement as an entrepreneur so far?

Two things I’m pretty much looking forward to…

  1. Hosting my own TV show, The CoachE’ Diaries…SavedFitFAB.
  2. Having my CoachE’ Fitness&Word tees worn by Staff of Multi Nationals in their THOUSANDS as they take long Fitness walks and I give talks to them too

Until both happen, I’m not considering anything that. I stay pressing on.

  • We know you are a fitness coach, but Fit-fam aside what food will you eat all day? (Confession time)

That’s easy. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a Noodles fan!!! I popped a baby out, and requested for Noodles and fried eggs immediately. For how ’empty’ nutrition wise, and ‘full’ calorie wise Noodles is, you would think I would give it up. There are days I’ve had Noodles for BLD. Like Noodles is BAE!!! That said, it doesn’t have dominion over me. No food does or can!!! Matter of fact, when I was actively trying to lose weight, I stayed off noodles for 3months, a miracle second only to the Immaculate conception.

  • When you are not blogging, coaching or praying? What are you doing?

Hahaha. Praying ke. That’s my Romantic Covenant Sister, Funto’s forte. She is the Prayer warrior. Anyways, I’m usually planning and projecting my life. I really do want my life to make Jesus famous so I don’t slack. Then I watch tons of videos from my fave teachers, and music videos on YouTube endlessly. I’m a ‘Tube junkie haha. Thank God for YouTube. These days i’m obsessed with Terri Savelle Foy and she is the reason doing the dishes or laundry is no longer as annoying. For fun though, really my daily routines are fun for me. My life is pretty exciting, but Desperate Housewives is still my fave go-to series so I watch re-runs since I’ve seen it all.

  • Complete this statement, One day Eziaha will

Hear ‘well done good and faithful servant. You really did make me proud and lived driven by eternity’ from God. I’m looking forward to and doing what I can to hear that.

Wow!  We certainly loved this interview and we hope you did too.

Did you notice what she said about not comparing your marriage / home to somebody else’s or when she said  “marriage was NOT made to run on human strength or you will self-destruct.” These are things we should not toy with.

Now one thing we absolutely love was what she said about defining the purpose of a friendship so you don’t screw it up. Many of us chose our friends carelessly and end up screwing things up. Well, it is time to do things differently. Choose your friends wisely, and guard your relationships jealously.

We made it!!!I know we’re two weeks into the year already but it’s my first piece here in 2017 so Happy New Year!

As we look forward to better experiences this year, I counsel you to do all that you can to protect the deposits of God within you. Believe it or not, 2017 is pregnant and so are you! This year has so much potential to deliver great opportunities to birth and serve the promises, visions, and dreams you are pregnant with. But while you wait for the appointed time to deliver, you must protect your conception!

Every conception needs a gestation period to mature and be ready for birth. This period is most critical because any form of carelessness can lead to a deformation or miscarriage. Too many times we “miscarry” God’s promises for our lives, our visions and dreams because we unduly expose them to harsh and negative influences while they’re still fragile and in the making. Not so this year! You’re going to be jealous over that pregnancy and step up the security around you by guarding your gates.

It’s important that you become very conscious about, and selective and intentional with what gets into you through your gates- your ears and your eyes. You need to be careful about those “conversations”, “advices”, “entertainment, “education” etc that come subtly to destroy those deposits.

There are probably projects that you didn’t execute last year because you were busy soaking up negative energy from the negative news in the media or perhaps someone told you (however nicely) that “You can’t do it”. Or maybe there were risks pregnant with opportunities that you didn’t take because you were dutifully observing the times and analyzing the seasons. Or you probably didn’t ascend certain spiritual heights because someone said “It’s not a big deal” or you were simply choked by the force of worldliness through exposure to unwholesome entertainment, literature and relationships. Well, it’s going to be very different this year because we’re mounting heavy checkpoints at the gates. Let God’s word “stop and search” everything that comes around and if they don’t fit His description, turn them back.

Safe guarding those promises, visions and dreams for this year is your responsibility. Take is personal! Know that whatever has your eyes and ears determines the course of your life. So, if you see it and hear it long enough, you start think it. And if you think it long enough, you become it.

To get the kind of results you need this year, there are songs you cannot listen to, movies you cannot watch, information you cannot pay attention to, and companies you cannot keep. Make sure you only allow and pay attention to influences born of God.

Enjoy God always and Thrive!

Mothers liberate your children!

Mothers liberate your children!

I remember how growing up was for me and some other children around. We would go to school as early as and wouldn’t return until around Even after spending so many hours in school, some of us would still be subjected to doing private lessons at home. The long vacations were not left out as our parents made sure we spent it all on the so called ‘summer coaching’ recycling same pattern of life.

It didn’t seem like there were other things we could learn and build on aside our academics; that was the only way to success.

I know very well that some of you can relate. My question now is this; are you putting your children through that same pattern of life or are allowing them explore other areas of life? Are you allowing you child enjoy the holidays in the real sense of the word?

You see, a child who is trained and brought up to be versatile will have little or no problem finding where his/her true passion lies. It’s really sickening that some parents cannot boldly say what particularly their child is great at, they don’t know what gifts their child has because they have clearly not observed. All they are concerned about is the grades.Don’t get me wrong. Grades are good but that’s not all there is to life.

When your children do well in sports, music, dance cheer them up. Don’t wait till the report card arrives.

Your child might not even be the best at school but there is something that he can do better than the person who took first position, but it’s up to you to help him find and build and be proud of it.

Never let your child feel unnecessarily bad because they are not the best in school. Instead encourage, correct and help. Don’t mock or yell.  That way you would also be building your child’s self-esteem.

Till I come your way again, liberate your children.

Good Morning Beautified Lady!
Are you ready to shine like never before?
Well let’s start confessing!
Our confessions this week are taken from Isaiah 62
In 2017 I shine forth in God’s righteousness!
Nations see my righteousness, kings are wowed by my glory; and God has conferred on me a new name!
He holds me aloft in His hands for all to see- a splendid crown for the king of kings!.
Never again shall I be called, “The forgotten one” or “The forsaken one”. My new name is called, “The one  the Lord Delights in”, for the Lord delights in me!
God establishes me, makes me respected and admired throughout the earth!
In 2017 my heart is enlarged to conceive mind blowing ideas and concept and He has prepared for me already and my hands and legs are swift to carry them out!
In 2017 I do not limit what God will do through me, because God is working in me, giving me the desire and the power to do that which pleases Him and to His fulfill His purpose on earth!
I am strengthened for every journey that has been designated to me by God in 2017, I therefore will not bask in weariness, neither will I let it stop me!
Whatever God builds through me in 2017, He helps me preserve it and gives me grace to keep it!
In 2017 I will be called “the desired one” and “the one God has blessed!”
What is holding you back?

What is holding you back?

It’s the beginning of a new year and to an extent all the frenzy and celebration has faded away. However, in the midst of all the reflections and introspection, it might also help to ask: “what’s holding me back?”

As I asked myself this question over and over, the answer was a major wake up call. Some reasons we give for not going all out to achieve our goals could be validating from being caught up in a downturn economic situation,to having to meet so many deadlines or maybe even having unforeseen happenings interrupt outlined goals .

Some others reasons could be not so validating like believing in your weakness or giving in to self-limiting doubts to dwelling on your mistakes, thinking that your challenges are unique, feeling that the world owes you, to resisting change or maybe fear of uncertainty of what the future holds or just being downright lazy, all these reasons, no matter how validating they might appear or not, exist because we’ve given room for reasons in the first place.

No external factor could ever be bigger than what I call“the enemy within”. It might not surprise you to know that youare your biggest opposition, clearly displayed in the choice made to limit yourself by external circumstancesand limit your optionsto going only as far as youallow yourself.

Don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t achieve all the goals you set to achieve last year. Your best deal is forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. And don’t take pride in scoring yourself a hundred percent, your best deal as well is forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.

Could it be that you didn’t give your all in seeing your goals through because it wasn’t even God-centered in the first place? What inspires your goals? – Self aspiration or God’s inspiration?

Okay, maybe you start out by making plans that are in line with what God would have you do, but you still didn’t get it all done, would ‘the enemy within’ still surface here? Well, yes because it takes more than writing down spirit inspired goals and visions to realize an agenda.

Amazing things happen when we get ourselves out of the way and make total commitment to what we desire to achieve, no matter what.

In this new year,  let God be the influence of your desires and as you find strength and zest  to make deliberate approach to actualisingyour goals, make a commitment to stay true to your goals, making no room for excuses and giving in all that is required to see it through to the end.

Have a great year!

Keeping the love alive even after the babies

Keeping the love alive even after the babies

Hello everyone and Happy New Year, may 2017 bring Joy all year round into our lives.

So let’s discuss ladies, how is the love affair with your husband’s? Hope you have not started calling him baba (insert child’s name) or daddy (insert child’s name) because that’s a problem.

When the children start rolling in we forget that our first priority is to our husbands; oh yes hubby come before the kids, but how do we put our ‘ogas at the top’ first without it feeling like a duty.

How do we make our husbands priority in love? How do we still treat them like we did while we were courting? Do they still have that special place in our hearts or have other things taken their place?

Here are a few tips that can help you treat hubby well:

  • If you are a newlywed/ expecting your first baby; then it’s important to discuss how you want to keep you love affair intact. Is it through weekly dinner/lunch dates, romantic weekend getaways or constant texting? Find something that works for you.
  • It’s important to discuss the sex life after delivery and birth control options please. I don’t know how to say this but sex is a major part of your marriage, forget what you know or you think you know. Men love sex don’t deprive them, even the good ones can only be deprived for so long. If you have issues with sex deal with it by talking to the right medical personnel. Don’t be shy to open up please; if you prefer to see a female doctor please request for one.
  • Seeking for domestic help is very important especially if you constantly feel overwhelmed and have a lot of meltdowns, but you need to apply wisdom when welcoming someone into your home to help in the day to day affairs. Pray about it seriously. It’s important that you and not the help cater directly to your family. The help is there to assist not take over from you.
  • Put your love affair with your husband first because your kids will grow and leave you all alone with your hubby.
  • Read articles and literature on how to make your relationship stronger and exciting. Try new and exciting things in and out of the bedroom. Do a surprise home alone arrangement take the kids to grandma, have sometime to yourselves, as a couple. Have fun and do what you used to do before the kids arrived.
  • Always look good for your hubby, even if you don’t go out, ensure you always look good when he gets back.
  • Educate yourself so you will constantly discuss things that will stimulate your hubby’s mind. Your spirituality, intelligence, appearance and character is key to keeping your marriage spicy.

Till next time stay blessed.

Lessons from moin moin: Don’t rush the process

Lessons from moin moin: Don’t rush the process

One of my favorite bible passages is 1stCor 1:27”But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise” because it just points to the fact that God can use anything to teach us,even the most unseemly thing. So one day I was preparing to make Moin moin (beans pudding)  and even though I had been thinking about making it all week there was no time to get all the necessary ingredients I could only start late in the evening because of my busy schedule. While trying to make sure it was ready before my husband came back, i didn’t bother picking the beans I just poured water and decanted the dirt forgetting that stones don’t float in water .I also didn’t have time to buy Bell pepper  (tatase) or Chilli pepper(sumbo) so I just used the scotch bonnet(Rodo) I had at home. By the time I finished grinding the beans, it still looked white like there was no pepper in it so in order to savage the situation i decided to put groundnut oil and palm oil in the raw beans just to give it a little color. Needless to say the outcome was terrible, the two oils refused to mix and the result was a palm oil patched moin moin. The cooked moin moin was filled with stones (remember I dint pick the beans). The moin moin was a disaster according to my standards and as I sat down thinking of the whole situation, the lord started teaching me using my disastrous moin moin as the case study.

  • Allow God to prune you.

There are some things in your life that has to go because with them there God cannot be glorified. Just like how it is important for me to pick the beans before cooking it in order to remove the dirt and stone, it is also important for you to allow the lord prune you. There is no shortcut or “patch patch” with God. In Psalm 139:23 David said search me, God and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. Let him remove anything that will not give him glory in your life.It could be a particular sin, character flaw or even something you hold dear to your heart but God is telling you to let go. LET GO AND LET GOD. Pruning is never a sweet experience it is always painful but just like gold and silver have to pass through fire to shine you need to allow God remove all the impurities in your life so that you can come out shining. This can be done by the word of God,it is a mirror and it shows you who you truly are and transforms you to who God wants you to be.Sister you need to allow God help you deal with that particular weakness before it becomes your undoing.

  • Don’t compromise God’s standard.

As you proceed in your journey to fulfill purpose, the world is going to throw things at you and expect you to compromise God’s standard.“Rodo” and “Tatase” are both pepper but they apparently have different functions, you can’t substitute one for the other. The world’s option is never a right substitute for God’s option. Satan is very smart he won’t use big things;he will use subtle things, “little foxes that spoil the vine”.But remember Eph 6:13……and after you have done everything to stand, stand firm….If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Stand for truth, love, holiness, excellence etc. Get your strength from the presence of God; nothing should take the place of daily fellowship with your Lord. Put on the whole armor of God; don’t be ashamed to stand for the things of God. Good values and morals are crumbling all around us but God is still interested in people that will not succumb to pressure just like the three Hebrew boys.Note that physical strength cannot do this; only an enabling acquired from God’s presence can give you the strength.

  • Be a purebreed christian

There are two types of moin moin, the palm oil type and the groundnut oil type. Mixing kinds of two oil was a terrible idea and this brings me to the last point ; you cannot be lukewarm, its either you are hot or you are cold. There is no in between in the kingdom,no sitting on the fence. Rev 3:15 -16.Take a stand for God, don’t be a two faced Christian.Yes we are in this world but we are not of this world. The instruction is to shine your light in darkness, not blend with the darkness .If you want to be a Christian, be a fire brand Christian, a true child of God that can boldly call God her Lord. Don’t be a mixed breed, be a pure breed Christian. The world is now confused about who a Christian is;please don’t add to the confusion. Make sure you stand out.

In becoming that Lady that will be a sweet fragrance to the world, you have to let God break you and mould you. Remember the woman with the alabaster box;the fragrance didn’t come out until the box was broken.

I  am a final year medical student.I love the Lord and i believe that Jesus Christ is the central theme of Christianity.

It’s the second week in 2017 already!
How has it been?
This week we are putting a stop to laboring without a reward and our confessions are based on Isaiah 61.
Here we go.
I declare that I am helped by God, covered in His grace and wrapped in His strength to carry out every commission He places in my hands in 2017!
I declare that a people who do not know me shall serve and come to my aid in fulfilling God’s commission for my life and every area of my life!
I am a priest of God. A minister of God. I am fed with the treasures of the nations and glory in their riches in 2017!
Instead of shame and dishonor, I have a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy!
In 2017 I do not labor for another to enjoy the fruit of my labor, I declare that I get reward for every labor and every of my effort!
My descendants are known and honored among the nations. Everyone realizes that they are a people God has bountifully blessed!
I declare 2017 as my year of rest and bountifully harvest from past and present labor!
Please wait...
